End-to-End Grain Transportation Architecture

OBİAL grain handling solutions integrate the entire flow from the supply pit to the silo top, from inter-silo transfer to final unloading, under a single engineering framework. It operates with a design philosophy that ensures high capacity, low operating costs, and product integrity.

Vertical Conveying • Carrier Elevator

Magnelis ZM310 columns and special plastic buckets enable high-capacity, safe vertical conveying that minimizes product damage.

Horizontal & Angular Conveying • Chain Conveyor

With capacity options from 20 t/h to 1000 t/h; quiet, efficient and damage-free grain transfer thanks to hardened chains and UHMW scraper blades.

Multipath Flow • Distributors

Underneath the elevator's top head, multi-way distributors automatically direct the grain flow to the desired silo or even further, minimizing dust leakage.

Final Discharge • Screw & Bottom Scraper

Completely emptying the product that does not flow out of the silo by gravity using screw or chain bottom scrapers ensures that the silo is used at "full capacity".

Conveying Elevator • Vertical Grain Conveying

OBİAL bucket elevators are designed for the economical, safe, and low-breakage vertical transportation of grain. They are manufactured taking into account the most demanding working conditions.

Structural Design

  • The column, drive unit head, and tensioning unit are manufactured from Magnelis ZM310 sheet metal.
  • Grains are transported without damage using special OBİAL plastic buckets.
  • The top and bottom sections feature viewing hatches for easy access.

Drive & Transmission

  • The IP55 protected motor assembly does not require additional enclosure.
  • The motion from the motor to the gearbox is transmitted via a V-belt/pulley, and the gearbox is directly connected to the drive shaft.
  • The upper drum is rubber coated to prevent belt slippage and skidding.

Maintenance & Cleaning

  • The subheading includes removable covers and viewing points for cleaning.
  • The tensioning unit compensates for belt stretching caused by temperature and usage.
  • Thanks to the steel cage structure of the lower drum, the grain is prevented from getting stuck between the drum and the belt.

Chain Conveyors • Horizontal and Angular Conveying

OBİAL chain conveyors enable economical, high-capacity, and damage-free transportation of grain horizontally or at an angle. They are used in all lines from the receiving pits to the silo top.

Capacity and Options

  • A wide range of size and capacity options to suit different facility needs.
  • Conveying capacities ranging from 20 t/s to 1000 t/s.
  • High-performance models specifically designed for material receiving pits.

Chain & Scraper Structure

  • Specially hardened chains that can adapt to harsh working conditions.
  • With UHMW1000 (plastic Delrin) scraper blades, friction and noise are minimized.
  • The wings are attached to the chain with a bolted system, making maintenance and replacement easy.

Modular & Economical Design

  • Bolted modular body structure instead of fully welded bodies.
  • Significant advantages in assembly, disassembly, and maintenance costs.
  • Steel gears are hardened by carburization to ensure a long service life.

Multipath Splitters • Intelligent Flow Management

Multi-way distributors, located beneath the elevator head, are the heart of the system that directs the grain flow to the desired silo or even further. They reduce dust leakage and control the flow.

Building and Materials

  • Magnelis coated sheet metal provides high corrosion resistance.
  • Thanks to its insulated housing, dust release to the outside environment is minimized.
  • Wear is reduced on surfaces in contact with grain using UHMW1000 material.

Control & Automation

  • The flow path is selected in the desired direction via switches or sensors.
  • Flexible line design with distribution options having varying numbers of paths.
  • The motor and sensors are easy to replace in case of malfunction.

Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Internal flow control via inspection covers on the dispenser body.
  • Pipe blockages or wear are quickly detected.
  • Designed for smooth operation in high-tonnage loading/unloading.

Screw & Bottom Scraper Systems

Silo bottom discharge screw conveyors and bottom scraper systems are designed to ensure safe, controlled, and complete discharge of grains that do not flow by gravity.

It is the main conveying element used to transport grain from inside the silo to outside the silo.

  • Covers and a control mechanism attached to these covers for safe emptying.
  • A safety mechanism that prevents the other hatches from being opened until the central hatch is closed.
  • The spiral sections are manufactured from galvanized sheet metal; they are supported by steel suspension bearings.
  • Power is transmitted directly from the geared motor to the drive shaft via a chain-coupling system.

It enables the removal of grains that remain in the "dead zone" at the bottom of the silo and do not flow away by gravity.

  • It scans the entire base with a 360° circular motion.
  • The load is transported using engineering calculations that take into account a special chassis-roof system and suspended bed assembly.
  • The mechanism is manufactured with a detachable bolted connection system; maintenance is easy.
  • Capacity flexibility is achieved through the belt-pulley system between the motor and the gearbox.
  • "With the 'dozer walking mechanism,' product unloading is completed without entering the silo."

This is a chain-based alternative developed for silos requiring high-capacity discharge.

  • Custom design and installation for each silo model.
  • High-capacity sweeping of the entire silo base with 360° movement.
  • Weldless, bolted modular body and movement unit.
  • Belt-pulley drive system, adaptable structure for different capacities.
  • Secure power transfer with a manifold device for cable management.

Design Philosophy & Durability

OBİAL grain conveying equipment is designed with the goals of long service life, low maintenance costs, and product quality preservation.

Magnelis ZM310 & Galvanized

  • The use of Magnelis ZM310 in columns, webs, and critical structural elements.
  • High corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Hybrid structure supported by galvanized steel and stainless steel components.

Ease of Maintenance & Operation

  • Easy access along the entire line with viewing and cleaning hatches.
  • Bolted, modular body structure allows for quick access and parts replacement.
  • Advantages in spare parts management with standardized components.

Product Integrity & Security

  • Plastic buckets, UHMW vanes, and special drum designs result in a low breakage rate.
  • Mechanical and automation solutions that reduce the risk of clogging, backfilling, and overloading.
  • Design approach compliant with electrical and mechanical safety standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

OBİAL chain conveyor and elevator solutions offer flexible design possibilities across a wide range of applications, from small-scale facilities to large terminals operating with capacities exceeding 20 t/h and high-capacity projects up to 1000 t/h.

Special plastic buckets, UHMW1000 scraper blades, appropriate speed and filling ratios, and careful design of drum and transfer geometries ensure the smoothest possible transfer of grain between pieces of equipment.

Both screw and chain-driven bottom scraper solutions, with their 360° circular movement and special "dozer walking mechanism," ensure that even product that doesn't flow by gravity is transported out of the silo. This aims for unloading without leaving any product at the silo bottom.

Thanks to its bolted modular housing structure, inspection and cleaning covers, standardized spare parts usage, and accessible drive units, maintenance times are shortened and downtime is minimized.
